Following the public presentation of the book "Ethics at Work: (De)Constructing Culture(s)?", the Ethics Forum at Católica Porto School of Business and Economics invites you to join a further opportunity for reflection and dialogue on 4 November at 2.30 pm.
Date: 4 November 2026
Time: 2.30 pm – 4.00 pm
Format: Online, via Microsoft Teams
This event will be held in Portuguese.
In a world characterised by speed, immediate responses and an abundance of information, this workshop proposes a different approach: pausing, reading, reflecting and engaging in dialogue.
Drawing on selected texts from the book, the session will explore ideas, stories and questions relating to ethics at work, organisational culture, leadership, conflict, trust and responsibility.
Rather than simply discussing concepts, the aim is to understand how these issues manifest themselves in the day-to-day life of organisations, and how critical reflection can contribute to building more ethical, humane and sustainable cultures.
The workshop will provide a space for shared reading, critical reflection and open dialogue, aimed at all those who believe that transforming organisations begins with the ability to question and think more deeply about the challenges we face.
Programme
2.30 pm | The importance of reading and writing in challenging organisational “normoses”
2.40 pm | Ethics at Work: What Really Matters? Reading extracts from the book’s foreword and introduction
3.00 pm | Stories That Leave a Mark Reading and reflection on narratives and experiences featured in the book
3.30 pm | From Reflection to Action Key takeaways and implications for organisations
