Welcome to Católica Porto School of Business and Economics! 

Part of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, our School has almost 40 years of history in Porto. Since its creation, we have grown from a strong foundation in Management, grounded in academic and research rigour and a humanistic approach that remains at the heart of our identity. 

Over the decades, we have taken steady steps in our growth and evolution. We have expanded our portfolio of undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programmes, as well as executive education offer; strengthened our research and knowledge transfer; deepened our connections with businesses and society; and multiplied the projects through which we seek to create impact. 

In 2026, we take another step in this journey and towards fulfilling our ambition. Católica Porto Business School is now Católica Porto School of Business and Economics (Católica Porto SBE). 

More than a new name, this change more clearly reflects the identity we have been building. It affirms Management and Economics as fundamental areas of our School and reinforces what we aspire to be: a unique and integrated School, where teaching, research, knowledge transfer and engagement with practice come together to develop People and transform organisations and society. 

We live in an increasingly volatile and complex world, where digital transformation and artificial intelligence are advancing at an unprecedented pace. In this context, we believe that what is deeply human becomes even more distinctive and irreplaceable. 

At Católica Porto SBE, we do not see students simply as numbers, faculty merely as those who teach, or staff simply as roles they perform — we see People. People capable of thinking critically, questioning, experimenting, making ethical and responsible decisions, building relationships, collaborating and leading with empathy and purpose. However far technology advances, these capabilities remain deeply human and irreplaceable. 

That is why, for us, education goes beyond acquiring knowledge or developing technical skills. We seek to contribute to the integral development of each Person and to a more ethical, sustainable and global society, preparing students and executives to understand complexity, continue learning, make responsible decisions and create impact in a changing world. 

We are in Porto and deeply rooted in the city and the region — in its businesses and organisations, in the professionals and students who come through our School, and in the Alumni whose stories we help to shape. But we are also a School open to Portugal and the world. We are part of global networks, build international partnerships, and welcome students, faculty, researchers and staff from around the world, while creating opportunities for our community to engage internationally. We are rooted in Porto, connected to Portugal and open to the world. 

Academic and research excellence is a fundamental part of our identity. Católica Porto SBE belongs to the select group of business schools worldwide holding Triple Crown accreditation — EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB — and is featured in the Financial Times rankings. 

But excellence only has meaning when it creates impact. That is why we measure our success not only by the achievements of our students and Alumni, but also by the quality and relevance of our research, the transformation of the organisations we work with, and our contribution to economic and social development and to the wellbeing of society. 

Knowledge opens up many possibilities. 

But it is the integral development of each Person that makes us truly irreplaceable.
