The double degree with Lancaster University Management School (LUMS), a world-class top management school with triple accreditation which consistently integrates several of its top 10 UK programmes, significantly strengthens our internationalisation strategy by introducing a new dimension to students who might be interested in gaining academic experience abroad.
The double degree allows students to obtain two Masters's Degrees in two years: one at Católica Porto School of Business and Economics and one at Lancaster University Management School.
Operation
First-year: The students taking the double degree must attend lectures and complete several ECTS of the Masters of the Católica Porto School of Business and Economics throughout the first year.
Second Year: Students will attend the curricular part of a Master's at Lancaster University Management School and they might choose to complete their dissertation at Católica Porto School of Business and Economics or at Lancaster University Management School.
At Lancaster University Management School, the school year is divided into three periods - Michaelmas (October-December), Lent (January-March) and Summer (April-September).
The dissertation will be assessed by the Católica Porto School of Business and Economics and by Lancaster University Management School, according to their own rules: the final mark at Lancaster University Management School is based solely on the dissertation. In contrast, the final mark at Católica Porto School of Business and Economics depends on the dissertation and its public defence.
Fees and Scholarships
1st year at Católica Porto School of Business and Economics
- 1st year at CPSBE fees: Students will have to pay the fees related to the 60 ECTS of the curricular part (10 instalments)
- 2nd-year fee: Students who decide to complete the dissertation at CPSBE will have to pay the fees related to the dissertation at CPSBE (5 instalments)
At Lancaster University Management School
At Lancaster University Management School, students will pay the tuition fee defined for international students.
Double degree students are subject to the payment of the fees defined by Lancaster University Management School but the benefit of a 30% discount (due to the fact that they make their dissertation at Católica Porto School of Business and Economics). Students may also choose to complete their dissertation at Lancaster University Management School, but in that case, the discount is only 10% off. That decision must be made before the student’s departure to Lancaster.
Scholarships
Students undertaking a Double Degree programme do not pay the 10th instalment fee of the 1st year at CPSBE.
